“Billy” Lovett - Director of Marketing,
Co-Founder
Billy Lovett’s career is a
unique blend of accomplishments in the private
and public sectors. Early in his professional
life he served as chair of the County Commission
in his home of Laurens County, Georgia and while
serving as a Chamber of Commerce board member,
he worked successfully with the industrial authority
to attract national corporations to middle Georgia.
Based on those achievements, then Gov. George
Busbee appointed him to the Economic Development
Council of Georgia.
Subsequently, Lovett was elected
to the Public Service Commission where he served
for 12 years. The Association of Energy Engineers
named him “Regulator of the Year."
In his last term he founded a not-for-profit think
tank dedicated to reducing dependence on foreign
oil.
In 1990 Lovett was elected to serve
as chairman of the Republican Party of Georgia.
Following his public service, he served as a business
development advisor specializing in acquisition
and finance and also formed a healthcare company
serving senior citizens. His company specialized
in acquisitions and finance with diverse client
industries ranging from banking to real estate.
Highly regarded for his solid reputation
and accomplishments, he was named one of the “One
Hundred Most Influential in Georgia” by
Georgia Trend magazine. He graduated from Leadership
Georgia, is a member of Business Executives for
National Security and serves on the Homeland Security
Committee. He is a dedicated fundraiser for Murphy
Harpst Children’s Center, a residential
treatment center for abused children. Lovett served
as a major in the Georgia Defense Force. Currently,
he is a member of the Southern Institute for Business
and Professional Ethics and serves on the board
of the USO. He also serves on the board of Sisters
by Choice and the Board of Trustees of The North
Georgia United Methodist Foundation. He serves
on the advisory board of Action Ministries.
Lovett attended Georgia State University,
Southern Christian University, Mercer University,
ABAC and holds two degrees. Additionally, he completed
regulatory course work at George Washington University,
Michigan State, the National Judicial College
and the Financial Accounting Institute. |
