Richard Carlton - Chief Lending Officer

With a banking career that spans 30 years, including many years in community banking, Carlton brings extensive experience in lending and sales force development to the One Georgia Bank team.

Carlton began his banking career at Bank South in 1975. Later, he spent 13 years with Wachovia before leaving as the bank’s County Executive of Bartow County, Georgia. He then joined Security State Bank becoming executive vice president and COO and subsequently served as president and CEO. From 2003 to 2005 Carlton was senior vice president in charge of commercial lending for American Trust Bank in Roswell, Georgia.

A graduate of the University of the South, Carlton earned a B.A. in economics and also attended the Banking School of the South-LSU.
