However, in building our Midtown branch, we wanted to have a piece of history as part of the bank. So we installed a 250-year-old antique oak floor. The wood used for the floor was growing in America before George Washington was President. The timber was harvested and milled in the 1800’s. The milled lumber was used to build barns throughout Georgia during that time period.

In the early part of the 21st Century, the old barns were taken down and the wood from the barns recycled. Hammonds, the company that installed our floor hand selected and prepared each board for installation.

The end result has been amazing. The floor is so distinctive and so striking that everyone entering the bank asks about the floor and wants to know the history. We are proud to have such a visual part of Georgia’s history with us as we build towards the future.
