However, in building
our Midtown branch, we wanted to have a piece of history as part of the
bank. So we installed a 250-year-old antique oak floor. The wood used
for the floor was growing in America before George Washington was
President. The timber was harvested and milled in the 1800’s. The
milled lumber was used to build barns throughout Georgia during that
time period.
In the early part of
the 21st Century, the old barns were taken down and the wood from the
barns recycled. Hammonds, the company that installed our floor hand
selected and prepared each board for installation.
